As part of the “Ziraat Katılım Memorial Forest” project, the initial 2,000 saplings were planted on December 7, 2024, by a pioneering group comprising Deputy General Manager Ms. Seher Elif Ekici, Ziraat Katılım employees, and their families.
Ziraat Katılım Publishes First Sustainability Report!
Ziraat Katılım has published its first Sustainability Report, detailing its efforts and initiatives in the field of sustainability. Guided by the overarching sustainability policies and principles adopted by the Ziraat Financial Group and aligned with the best practices in international participation finance principles, the Bank has navigated its sustainability efforts and reporting process. In a statement about the report, CEO Mr. Metin Özdemir highlighted the projects implemented to integrate sustainability into the bank’s core operations and participation finance cycle. He also discussed the Bank’s steps towards sustainability and shared the long-term vision for the future. The Ziraat Katılım Sustainability Report, prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, is available on the Bank’s corporate website.
2024 Strategy Workshop and Evaluation Meeting
The meeting commenced with an opening speech by CEO Mr. Metin Özdemir, followed by presentations from Deputy General Managers and Group Heads, each outlining their respective business units. Under the leadership of the Strategy Planning Department, the session began with an in-depth presentation from the Strategy Planning Department Head, followed by evaluations from the General Manager and Deputy General Managers on the process.
In the second phase of the meeting, all participants engaged in working groups to analyze key issues and evaluate findings and potential solutions. Throughout the workshop, structured questions were addressed by the working groups, and the top three ideas, selected based on survey results, were awarded.
Pedaling for Freedom from July 15th to Gaza
In collaboration with the 15 July Foundation, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Turkish Cycling Federation, Ziraat Katılım supported the “Pedaling for Freedom from July 15th to Gaza” cycling tour. Cyclists participated in this event to commemorate the martyrs of the July 15, 2016 coup attempt and raise awareness for the freedom struggle in Gaza.
The event, which began at Dolmabahçe Palace, featured Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Osman Aşkın Bak, Ziraat Katılım General Manager, Mr. Metin Özdemir, and the President of the Turkish Cycling Federation, Mr. Emin Müftüoğlu, who also joined the participants in the cycling tour.
Ziraat Katılım’s Green Legacy: Ziraat Katılım Memorial Forest
Ziraat Katılım, in its commitment to corporate social responsibility, has launched the “Ziraat Katılım Memorial Forest” creating a lasting green legacy for future generations. On December 7, 2024, an inaugural group consisting of Deputy General Manager Ms. Seher Elif Ekici, along with Ziraat Katılım employees and their families, planted the first 2,000 saplings of the project. The “Ziraat Katılım Memorial Forest,” intended to serve as a green legacy for future generations, is situated on land allocated to the Bank by the Istanbul Regional Directorate of Forestry in Ballıca, Pendik.
Renovation of Historic Sahn-ı Seman Madrasa Completed with the Support of Ziraat Katılım
The renovation of the historic Sahn-ı Seman Madrasa, a legacy of Fatih Sultan Mehmet, has been completed with the support of Ziraat Katılım. The refurbished section was officially opened at the Sahn-ı Seman Madrasa, located in the courtyard of Fatih Mosque, and attended by Ziraat Katılım General Manager Mr. Metin Özdemir, İlim Yayma Foundation President Yusuf Tülün, and their delegation. During the opening ceremony, Ziraat Katılım General Manager Mr. Özdemir visited the library and classrooms designed to serve students at the renovated section.
“Digital Istanbul” Project Made Possible with Ziraat Katılım’s Contributions
A protocol ceremony was held to launch the “Digital Istanbul” project, which aims to provide access to accurate and up-to-date information about Istanbul’s registered cultural assets. As part of the project to be implemented with the support of Ziraat Katılım, accurate and up-to-date information on registered immovable cultural assets in Istanbul will be made accessible through QR code technology using smartphones, tablets, and similar devices, paving the way for the city’s cultural heritage to be shared via digital technologies. This initiative will allow the digital sharing of Istanbul’s rich cultural heritage, including 200 mosques. It will provide historical data, architects, construction techniques, and notable features. The information will be accessible in multiple languages on the project’s dedicated website, benefiting both Istanbul residents and visitors.
